Sunday Meetings
Main Sunday Services
At Worcester Elim we have two Sunday Services, at 10.30am and 6pm, both including praise and worship and also a sermon on a relevant subject. The morning service also includes Communion, a time for remembering and thanking Christ for His Death and Resurrection, as well as examining ourselves and our relationships with both God and each other. The sermon is normally brought to us by our Pastor, although we have guest speakers from other churches or from people within our church from time to time. We enjoy a relaxed and informal style of service and our worship is usually led by our Pastor and musicians, combining modern contemporary songs with just as relevant older hymns.
After our evening service refreshments are provided, serving tea, coffee and cold drinks in our Refreshment Area behind the Main Hall. This is a time for talking with others and building friendships, and you are free to stay for as short or long a time as you want to.
Worcester Elim also caters for children and babies during our morning service, when both 'Impact' and 'Little Treasures' are held (see below).
Impact
Impact is our Sunday School and is a fun and lively time for children aged 5 - 12, and usually includes Bible stories, games, quizzes and craft. Children stay in the main service for a short while, before going up to the Impact Room, a separate room within the main building, situated at the top of two flights of stairs. Both Impact and Little Treasures are run by a dedicated team on a rota system. Everyone within our church who is involved in childrens work conforms to our child protection policy.
Little Treasures
'Little Treasures' is our creche for babies and toddlers and is located in a newly decorated room at the top of the first flight of stairs, and has excellent facilities. It is a valuable time of fun and activity in a safe and secure environment, with childrens gates, and there are many toys, games and crafts. Parents are welcome to stay in the creche or are free to leave their children with our creche team (who all conform to our Child Protection Policy), whilst they enjoy the main service. The creche facilities are also available during our evening service for use by parents, although our creche team are only in the creche during our morning service.
Poppets
Poppets is our baby & toddler group that runs on a Thursday from 9:45am to 11:45am, during term time. There are lots of activities during the time, including singing, craft, playtime, stories and refreshments.
The cost is £1.50 per child (50p for each additional child) and all staff are security checked. If you would like more information please email poppets@elimworcester.org.uk.
The Alternative
The youth of our church meet on a Friday evening at 'The Alternative', which runs from 7.30pm till 9.30pm. The youth of our church are a wide range of ages, and the Alternative caters for all young people from High School age and above. The Alternative is a fun, relaxing time that includes social time, activities and a talk about a relevant subject. There are usually monthly events for the young people, and recent activities include the Gathering '09, Laser Quest and Bowling.
It will be great to see you there!
Open Air Services
Over the summer months we have monthly 'Open Air Services' by the River Severn at North Quay, starting at 5pm. They last for about 45 minutes and include singing, testimonies and a short gospel message.
For all the meetings below, please use the side door on Pheasant Street.
Midweek Meetings
Bible Study
Our Bible Study is held every Tuesday evening at 7.45pm and usually finishes at about 9.00pm. This is usually led by our minister and often takes the form of a discussion.
Prayer Meeting
The Prayer Meeting is held every Thursday evening at 7.45pm and also usually finishes at about 9.00pm. Once a month we have a Missions Prayer Meeting led by our Missions Secretary, Maureen, who is also one of our Deacons.
Men 4 God
Men 4 God is usually on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm. It is a social time for men and usually involves playing pool and table tennis (although other activities like 'Pitch and Putt' are sometimes on over the summer). Then we usually have food together and there maybe a discussion about some relevant topics. This meeting is a very informal time and you would be very welcome to join us.
Girls 4 God
Girls 4 God is usually on the third Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm and is an informal social time for the women of our church. Each month there is a different theme or activity, these may involve a visiting speaker, a food night or just a social time. You would be most welcome to join us at Girls 4 God.
Lifelink
Lifelink is held every second and fourth Wednesday morning at 10.00am. Lifelink helps missionaries in practical ways and is also a time of prayer for all of our Elim Missionaries, particularly those that we support as a church. At Lifelink, items are collected and boxed up to be sent to Honduras, and community bags are made to help the people in Honduras. Lifelink often holds fundraising events, such as jewellery auctions, treasure trails, teddy bear auctions and 'Wimbledon' table tennis tournaments in order to raise money for our missionaries to support them in their work.
